Sean Roosen Sean Roosen

President, Chief Executive Officer and Director


Mr. Roosen is President and Chief Executive Officer of Osisko Mining Corporation since August 2006. He has led the transition of Osisko from a junior exploration company to a leading intermediate gold producer. He is responsible for leading the strategic development of the Corporation and was instrumental in securing the necessary financing to fund the development of the $1 billion Canadian Malartic Mine, the Corporation’s flagship asset. Mr. Roosen is a Supervisory Board member of EurAsia Resource Holdings AG - a European based venture capital fund - and a director of EurAsia Resource Value SE which is a shareholder of Osisko. Mr. Roosen also sits on the Board of Directors of the following publicly listed companies – Astur Gold Corporation, Bowmore Exploration Ltd., Condor Petroleum Inc. and Dalradian Resources Inc. Mr. Roosen is a graduate of the Haileybury School of Mines and has had various progressive positions in the mining industry both domestically and internationally.

Robert Wares Robert Wares, D.Sc., P.Geo.

Senior Vice President, Exploration and Resource Development


Mr. Wares is the cofounder of Osisko and is responsible for the discovery of the Canadian Malartic gold deposit, the Corporation’s flagship asset.  Mr. Wares was President of Osisko from 1998 to 2006 and retired as Executive Vice President, Exploration and Resource Development in October 2012. On February 18, 2014, Mr. Wares was pulled out of his retirement and appointed by the Board of Directors of the Corporation to hold the position of Senior Vice President, Exploration and Resource Development.


Mr. Wares has over 30 years of experience in the mineral exploration industry and is currently the President of l’Ordre des géologues du Québec (Quebec Professional Geologist Association). He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Augusta Resource Corporation, Braeval Mining Corporation, Bowmore Exploration Ltd., Komet Resources Inc. and Wildcat Silver Corporation. He is a member of various industry and research organizations within the mineral industry.


As a geoscientist, discoverer, developer, philanthropist and a leader, he was recognized over the past several years with the Geological Association of Canada’s Julian Boldy Award, AEMQ Jean Descarreaux Award, AEMQ Prospector of the Year Award and Entrepreneur of the Year Award; the PDAC Prospector of the Year Award, and Developer of the Year Award; been named Northern Miner’s “Mining Men of the Year”, to name but a few.


Mr. Wares graduated in 1979 from McGill University with a Bachelor of Science, Honours Degree in Geological Sciences. In the spring of 2012, Mr. Wares’ achievements and contributions to the field of geology were recognized with an honourary Doctorate from McGill University, his alma mater.

Bryan A. Coates Bryan A. Coates, CPA-CA

Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer


Mr. Coates is Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of the Corporation since    May 1, 2007. He is responsible for all activities related to financing, financial reporting, marketing relating to the gold industry, risk management and government relations. Mr. Coates has more than 30 years of progressive experience within the international and Canadian mining industry. Before joining Osisko, he was Chief Financial Officer of Iamgold (2006-2007), Cambior Inc. (2001-2006), and Cia Minera Antamina (1998-2001). Mr. Coates is a member of the Board of Directors of U308 Corp. and of Golden Queen Mining Co. Ltd. He also acts as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Fédération des Chambres de Commerce du Quebec's, as well as the chair of the Chamber’s Mining Industry Committee. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce from Laurentian University and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario.

Luc Lessard Luc Lessard, Eng.

Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer


Mr. Lessard became Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Osisko in 2011 after serving as Vice President Engineering and Construction from September 2007 to March 2011. From January 2000 to November 2006, Mr. Lessard was General Manager of Project and Construction for Cambior Inc., and then Vice President of Engineering and Construction for IAMGOLD Corporation following their acquisition of Cambior Inc in November 2006, until his departure in 2007. Mr. Lessard currently serves as a director of Nighthawk Gold Corp. since July 2013.

John Burzynski John F. Burzynski, P.Geo., M.Sc.

Vice President, Corporate Development and Director


Mr. Burzynski holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in geology from Mount Allison University, and a Master of Science in exploration and mineral economics from Queen’s University. He is a registered P.Geo. in the province of Québec, and has over 25 years experience as a professional geologist on international mining and development projects.  He currently serves as a Director with Condor Petroleum Inc. (CPI:TSX) and is Chairman of the Board of Directors with Braeval Mining Corporation (BVL:TSX).  He is one of the three founders of Osisko Mining Corporation and currently serves as Vice President, Corporate Development.  Mr. Burzynski is also a founding member of EurAsia Resource Holdings AG, a private resource fund based in Europe.

Denis Cimon Denis Cimon, Eng., M.Sc.

Vice President, Technical services


Mr. Cimon was appointed Vice President, Technical Services in January 2013.  He has more than 25 years of professional experience in design and operation of large gold extractions facilities such as the Rosebel mine in Suriname.  From 2007 to 2013, Mr. Cimon held two different positions with Osisko; Manager of Mineral Processing and General Manager of the Canadian Malartic Mine.  He was responsible for overseeing all aspects including the design and start-up of an urban open-pit mine.  Mr. Cimon holds a Bachelor degree in Mining Engineering and a Master in Mineral Processing from Laval University.  He participates in several research and development boards in the industry.

André Le Bel André Le Bel, LL.B.

Vice President, Legal Affairs and Corporate Secretary


Mr. Le Bel is the Vice President, Legal Affairs and Corporate Secretary of Osisko since November 2007. Previously, he was Senior Legal Counsel for Cambior Inc. since July 1997 and was promoted to Vice President Legal Affairs of IAMGOLD Corporation following its acquisition of Cambior Inc. Mr. Le Bel is also a director of RedQuest Capital Corp., a capital pool company.

Elif Lévesque Elif Lévesque, CPA, CGA, MBA

Vice President and Controller


Ms. Lévesque was appointed Vice president and Controller in May 2011 and has contributed to the development of the financial reporting and planning functions at Osisko since December 2008. She is responsible for corporate financial reporting, the IT team, and internal controls. Ms Levesque has over 10 years of progressive experience with leading Canadian intermediate gold producers. She is a member of the Ordre des Comptables Professionnels Agréés du Québec and holds an MBA from Clark University, Massachusetts, USA.

Robert Mailhot Robert Mailhot, CRIA

Vice President, Human Resources


Mr. Mailhot has over 20 years of experience in human resources, as General Manager, Industrial Relations for Télébec-NorthernTel and Director, Human Resources for Falconbridge Mine Raglan, among others. Mr. Mailhot has also held similar responsibilities in the food-processing industry. M. Mailhot graduated from Montreal University and is a member of the Ordre Professionnel des Conseillers en Ressources Humaines Agréés.

Ruben Wallin Ruben Wallin, P.Eng., M.Eng.

Vice President, Environment and Sustainable Development


Mr. Wallin is Vice President, Environment and Sustainable Development of Osisko Mining Corporation since August 2013.  In his 23 years of progressive experience in the mining industry, including major companies such as Barrick Gold Corporation and IAMGOLD Corporation, he has worked on mining projects located throughout the world in environmental impact assessments, environmental approvals and permitting, environmental and social management systems, First Nations consultation and government consultation.  Mr. Wallin holds Bachelor degrees in Microbiology and in Environmental Engineering, and a Master in Geological Engineering.  He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia and the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario.
