CIM 2010 SYNCRUDE AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Osisko Mining Corporation (« Osisko », OSK : TSX, EWX : Deutsche Boerse) is pleased to report that it has recently been granted an ward recognizing its excellence in sustainable development. The Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (« CIM ») presented Osisko with the 2010 Syncrude Award. This award recognizes extraordinary systems, programs or processes that have far-reaching and positive sustainability effects in all industry sectors across Canada. It recognizes those individuals, communities, organizations, corporations or academics that are working to create economic wealth while mitigating environmental impacts and acting inclusively towards all segments of society.
Osisko has developed a responsible approach to the development of the Canadian Malartic project. Since 2006, its methods have often been cited as a model to be followed. It has distinguished itself through a series of actions and measures in building the Canadian Malartic project, while seeking a fair balance of its economic, social and environmental considerations.
In May 2010 at the CIM Conference and Exhibition, Osisko Mining Corporation was honored to have been awarded the 2010 Syncrude Award for Excellence in Sustainable Development.
