Located in the Tapajos Gold province, Para State, central Brazil, an area that has produced, since the 1950's, over 20 million ounces of gold from artisanal mining. 72,000 hectare property comprising thirteen adjacent blocks.
Osisko to fund exploration work and make $345,000 US in staged cash payments to acquire a 70% interest in Castelo.
Two gold-bearing zones known from previous exploration work: Esperanca Sul and Esperanca Centro. Esperanca Sul is defined by a large area of gold soil anomalies that is 5 km long and 1 to 2 km wide, while Esperanca Centro is an area of gold soil anomalies that is 2 km long and 500 m wide.
Results from previous exploration work on Esperanca Sul include trench sampling that returned up to 1.39 g/t Au over 77 m, and drilling that returned up to 2.80 g/t Au over 20 m.
Little exploration work done on Esperanca Centro, and no work done on a third target defined from previous exploration (Alvo Geofisico).
