Monitoring Committee
Creation of the Monitoring Committee: OSISKO Canadian Malartic Project
During the public consultations that began in 2006, Osisko Mining Corporation (OSISKO) voluntarily undertook to set up a Monitoring Committee (the Committee), and communicated
this to Malartic residents, the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment and Parks (MSDEP) and the BAPE (Bureau d’audiences publiques sur l’environnement). OSISKO
indicated that the Committee would be composed of Malartic residents and regional representatives who would monitor the Canadian Malartic project. For OSISKO, the Monitoring
Committee is the logical outcome of the consultation activities it has engaged in since its arrival in Malartic, and the creation of the GCG, Groupe de consultation
de la communauté, in 2006. OSISKO is motivated by a desire for transparency and openness, and sees the Committee as an opportunity to establish an active community presence
in Malartic. This approach is in line with principles of sustainable development and OSISKO’s values. (See the complete text and application form below)
